Course Schedule This 12-hour completion course is held on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month: First Monday: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM (4 hours) First Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (8 hours) Prerequisites You must have already completed the 4-hour NC Unarmed Guard Pre-Duty session prior to enrolling in this course. This completion course must be taken within 30 days of your hire date to remain in compliance with NC law. Course Overview This 12-hour session completes your mandatory 16-hour NC Unarmed Guard Training certification as required by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board. Building on the legal foundations covered in your pre-duty session, this course develops the practical skills you need to perform your duties safely and professionally. Topics include: Patrol Procedures – Effective techniques for monitoring and securing assigned areas Emergency Response Protocols – How to recognize, respond to, and report emergency situations Communication Techniques – Professional communication with clients, the public, and law enforcement Report Writing & Documentation – Proper methods for recording incidents and maintaining accurate logs Threat Assessment – Identifying and responding appropriately to potential security risks Professional Conduct & Ethics – Standards of behavior that protect client interests and public safety Upon successful completion, you will have fulfilled the full 16-hour training requirement mandated by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board.
